What is the New Approach? The New Approach to string playing was developed by Kató Kavas as a means to release physical tension related to string playing. It was seen that this release also eliminated emotional tension.
The result is that the player can play without suffering from aches and pains, even tendonitis, and stage fright.
When they were published, Kato Havas' books were praised by Yehudi Menuhin.
The New Approach has enormously helped me personally, as well as many other players all over the world, over more than 50 years, since the first book was published.
For this reason, in addition to teaching it, I've started running workshops, to let other people know that they can do something to eliminate their problems, if they have them.
Here you'll find information about these workshops, I hope you can participate.
First, I'd like to tell you about some workshops I ran in Italy, in March and April. That's where I'm from, I translated Kató Havas' three books into Italian and that's how they find me and ask me to do a worksohp. Have a look, see some photos and comments.
Next workshopsOver this summer, I'll run two workshops, one in San Ferdinando, Italy, from 19 to 22 July, and one in Oxford from 31 August to 2 September.
